It is a soft, warm beige leather shell with gentle vertical pleats running down the back, flared winged sides that curve around the sitter like a low shelter, and a thick, cushioned seat that reads as plush rather than firm. The whole shell sits on a black stained wood frame with four tapered square legs, so the piece carries the softness of the leather and the quiet weight of the frame at the same time. The black stained wood frame is the structural and visual counterpoint to the soft shell. The frame is a simple, composed form, a low seat rail and four straight legs, each leg tapered slightly and finished in a deep, even black stain that keeps the wood's grain visible under the finish. The four legs are set squarely under the corners of the frame, giving the chair a stable, planted stance, and the black tone grounds the warm leather above it, so the chair reads as composed rather than floating.
